It's HOMECOMING!!! A time of celebration, a time to remember days gone by.  Mary Andrews comes home to see Archie, things are looking up for Hiram Lodge and there may be some leniency in his case.  FP seems to be getting things back under control, he eve read Jughead's manuscript.  Are things about to start getting better even though Jason's murder is still unsolved? Veronica is not into continuing her moments with Archie, but she is interested in getting to the bottom of the Jason's murder. Betty however, is not interested in finding out if FP has anything to do with Jason's murder because she has already been there and knows that FP told Jughead he had nothing to do with it.  Veronica teams up with Alice Cooper and enlists Archie to find out the truth about FP and whether or not he had anything to do with the death of Jason Blossom. The Andrews: Fred decides to head to Chicago to finalize his divorce with Mary.  Archie wants his dad to maybe reconsider the divorce, but Fred insists he stays home, so Archie and Jughead are home alone.   Archie gets decidedly drunk the night of Jughead's birthday, calls his dad but doesn't say anything. The Coopers: Betty tries to be good girlfriend and plan a surprise for Jughead's birthday as well as a birthday party.  Betty and Veronica are all in for a quaint gathering at Archie's house, Archie acquiesces because he knows better than to argue.  Chuck Clayton returns to school and sits with Ethel, it cause Betty to see red, but he was only trying to apologize.   Chuck calls out Betty for what she did the night at Ethel's.  Jughead leaps to Betty's defense and punches Chuck straight in the jaw. We finally get a look inside Thorn Hill and learn a little more about the Blossom family.  And the Blossoms are into Maple Syrup, it's everywhere in the town.  What will happen to the Blossom Family business now that Jason is dead? So many questions and so few answers, and really is maple syrup that much of a lucrative business or is there more to this story? Betty just wants to know why Polly isn't talking to her, Alice just wants to paint the Blossoms as a horrible family. Betty learns from Archie that Polly is fine but Betty finds it hard to believe that Polly won't even talk to her.  When that doesn't satisfy her curosity she approaches Cheryl, who is less than helpful. Alice loses her patience with Hank and hurls a brick through the door of his shop. Veronica and Hermoine are dealing with the fact that Hiram Lodge knows that Hermoine has had a tryst with Fred Andrews, but Fred Andrews still does not know that Lodge Industry is his new boss. Jughead tells us as the narrator that the Coopers were high school sweethearts.  They had two beautiful girls and wonderful careers and the perfect life. That is until they get shoved into their own Romeo and Juliet story, when Polly and Jason fall irrevocably in love.  These two star crossed lovers met by chance, even had a nasty, short lived break up. But when Polly found out she was pregnant, Jason and Polly got engaged with his grandmothers ring, and planned to run away together.  Which all ended tragically with Jason's death and Polly being locked away by her own parents. How are you guys enjoying Riverdale?  It's definitely not the Archie Comic Universe I grew up with but I am really not mad at it.  I am very anxious to see Mrs. Andrews and I would really like to see Jellybean and Mrs. Jones, but for now they are just mentioned characters. Well let's get started with Episode 7! So Juggie is living in squalor and know one knows. His dad is not only a Southside Serpent, he's also an alcoholic who has chosen the bottle over his family time and time again.  Juggie works really hard keeping his secret but he gets busted by Archie and finally comes clean with his problems to Archie. Even admitting that since his dad lost his job at Andrew's Construction it's been extra tough at home. Archie and Juggie then join forces to help FP get his job back with Andrew's Construction.  Juggie confronts his dad on his alcoholism and the fact that it is his drinking that is destroying their family. FP and Fred Andrews make amends and FP start...

What are you afraid of? Failing in front of people, being too much for other, hurting others, the dark?? Well this episode of Riverdale's theme is around Fear and how it is important to face your fears. Jughead and Betty are getting closer this episode.  Jughead comes over for breakfast and aids Betty in spying on her mom and dad.  The spying pays off and Jughead and Betty discover where Polly is, so they head off to find her and find out what's happening.  Polly is in a home for disenfranchised youth and when Betty finds her, we discover that Polly is pregnant with Jason's baby.  Polly tells Betty about her and Jason's plan to run away to have the baby together and that is when Betty realizes that Polly didn't know about Jason's murder.  Betty's mom shows up and is very unimpressed with Betty being here, but Polly is absolutely distraught that Jason is dead.  In the end Polly goes missing and everyone starts to wonder if maybe Polly was the one who kille...

This is what I would call the truth episode.  Many, many truths are revealed to most characters, and the truths that aren't revealed are deducted out by our mystery solvers. The first truth that comes out is that the Blossoms believe that someone in Riverdale killed Jason. So they invite the whole town to Jason's memorial before they bury him in the cemetery on their property.  Everyone comes and you see some heated exchanges between Mr. Cooper and Mr. Blossom and some disdainful looks rom Mrs. Blossom to Mrs. Lodge.  It looks like the founding families of this town have a lot of unresolved issues.  What issues could be brewing between all these families? The second truth is that Jason was acting very strangely before he went missing. He was disengaging from his friends, refusing to return phone calls and then he started selling all his stuff.  Anything that had value he was selling. There were rumours that he was selling drugs, but these were neither confir...

I LOVED that this episode revolved around the Drive In.  A nostalgic relic from the past that I still think most families enjoy partaking in. Jughead is the main character of this story along with the South Side Serpents, and Archie and Miss Grundy.  Let's start with the south side Serpents. The South Side Serpents are a biker gang in Riverdale.  The generally take over territory in the south area but they have been hanging out at the Drive In a lot. We find out the Hermoine Lodge has dealings with the Serpents for her husband, and that she has also given a bag of cash to the Mayor for her help in purchasing the Drive In property.  The South Side Serpents are hanging around the Drive In at the behest of Hiram Lodge to bring the property value of the Drive In down so he can purchase the land for a business deal.  It has worked and Lodge Industries or a private LLC that he owns is now the owner of the Drive In.  It is set to be demolished the next day and...

How often do your comic book heroes come to life?  Well in this day and age almost always, and now we have this wonderful show bringing to life the characters of the Archie Comics universe. We've found that the Jason Blossom didn't actually drown but was shot in the head. Episode three opens with Cheryl explain that Jason's disappearance was all an elaborate ruse that Jason and Cheryl concocted to allow Jason to escape his parents.  Cheryl is coming clean about Jason faking his own death and now we know that the July 4h gunshot means nothing and really has no correlation to the murder. Betty is again at odds with her mother. As Alice is the owner and reporter on the local newspaper, she is definitely taking the murder of a teen in her town to new levels. She wants to make sure that she is on top of every story and makes all these crazy claims.  Then she calls Betty a Lois Lane type, which sends Betty to want to reboot the Blue and Gold.  The Riverdale High newspa...

I started trying to watch this series with my husband, but then it gets me way behind on my blogging so I am watching it on my own then again with him.  I actually like it enough to do that. So in episode one all the players were introduced and we found out that many had secrets to hide.  I love a great mystery and I really want to know who the murderer is, and who is hiding more than they are letting on. After the recap of the first lesson we come in to the narration of Jughead giving his overview at what has been happening with the residence of Riverdale. Archie is living with a guilty conscience, he and Ms Grundy heard a shot but didn't tell anyone about it.  And really why would they have, it happened July 4th and they didn't know at that time that Jason was missing, so Archie needs to give himself a break, but he does need to give Betty some space if he wants to have a friendship with her again. I have found a new obsession!! I grew up on Archie Comics, they were the one staple in my life on long road trips, my sister and I would scour the gas stations and pick up new Archie comics at each stop, we'd read them, trade them and read them again and again.  To say I have an obsession with Archie Comics could be a bit understated. I even had all the novels that came out in the nineties, so when I heard that CW was releasing a new series based on the characters of the Archie Comics I was THRILLED!! And what is even better, is that Netflix, releases a new episode each week on the Canadian Netflix.  I can't see that this happens on the American Netflix, but I love that I get Scandal, The 100 and now Riverdale released each week after it airs!! So great!! So here are my thoughts on each episode, things I really like, things I am not sure about, and things I really wish they hadn't changed. I try not to spend too much time watching television but there are a few shows that I just can't miss.  I like to be entertained when I watch a show, but I also like a show to intrigue me, to get me to think.  Sometimes it's those what if questions, sometimes it's the OMG what is going to happen, but regardless, I have three things to make a television show one that I watch!  I'm a loyal viewer so as long a s a show can provide for my whimsical needs I will watch loyally. I like drama and intrigue.  I like shows to keep me guessing, to get me thinking. I like strong characters, not strong actors,  but strong characters, characters you could relate to, or want to emulate because they show admirable qualities. I like storylines to be more ensemble based then strictly on following one character. I also like my sitcoms to be funny, but to be funny because they could really happen. In all my excitement about going to the movie with Lil man I forgot to take pictures OOPS!! But I was super excited to go see this movie, and Lil Man is actually very much like his brother in the fact that he loves Fairy Tale stories and he can be convinced to go to movies with me that some other boys may feel are more girl orientated!! We asked my friend Sara and her girl Summer to join us and they were very excited to join us.  It was a busy day in the theatre even though we went to the 12:30 showing.  There were a couple birthday parties and a lot of fathers there with their daughters (so fricken cute)!! Since we moved into this house 3 and 1/2 years ago I have been wanting to get new curtains for the bedroom.  Since we have moved in there have been metal beige venetian blinds in the windows.  The do nothing for blocking out the light or sound and they are not even properly anchored to the wall, they just rest on the brackets so when you adjust them, you have to put your hand up to hold them in place.  They are the WORST!!! So I have a sewing machine that I have borrowed from my mother, for like two years now, and I have finally put it to use.  It was a busy day and there was some cursing as I was not exactly sure who to get my sewing machine to work.  But at the end of this adventure I have new curtains in my bedroom and I couldn't be happier.
