Life's Whirlwind Adventures

It feels like only yesterday the doctor put you in my arms all wrapped in a blanket. I was so confused when Dr. Du Ploy announced your weight, because I was sure you were going to be bigger.  But you were the perfect size!! You were and still are perfect. It's been the most amazing year with you in our life! You bring joy to everyone around you!  Your smiles are contagious and there is always a hint of mischievousness behind your eyes. You have the same determination that your older brother, Lil Man had, but you have the chill disposition that Chandler had. If anything you are a very nice hybrid of your two older brothers, making you your very own person. You love music and love to dance. Anytime music is on you are singing away and dancing to the beat. You have great rhythm already. I remember getting Lil Man's school calendar in September and thinking it was going to be forever before May hit, 9 months away, and yet here we are two weeks out of May and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Prince T has grown into a delightful baby!! He's mostly happy, quite stubborn but easy to get along with, he just knows what he wants and he knows how to get it.  He's really started doing some neat things now.  He's not walking yet, but he's pulling himself up and standing with assistance, he claps, he waves hi and bye and he still blows kisses.  He loves his brothers and he enjoys spending time with Daddy. There are some marked differences between him and Lil Man when Lil Man was that age.  Prince T doesn't fight sleep, he lays down for his naps without fuss and sleeps well during his naps. He's still taking two naps a day and he is in bed by 7 every night.  He's a creature of routine.  Lil Man wasn't quite this easy, he...

Where did the last month go? I mean it feels like it was just yesterday I was telling you that my baby was 9 months old and now I'm telling you he is 10 months!! He's lived outside the womb longer than he was in it!!! This is so not fair!! But Prince T you light up every room you enter!! You are loving and curious and adventurous!! You are a wonderful blend of personality of your brothers.  You have a calm disposition like Chandler but you want to explore every inch of your world like Lil Man!! This month you've taught us that you don't like vegetables, they just aren't your thing, unless they are raw, then you will eat them like they are going out of style. You aren't much of a fan of fruit either, but can devour a banana like nothing and will eat oranges.  Unlike Lil Man, berries are not your favourite! You are crawling and motoring around the house and you are starting to pull yourself up, no not starting you are consistently pullin...

My little baby is now 9 months old, 9 months!!! What a little sweetheart he is turning into as well!! I am absolutely smitten with his personality, he's such a happy baby.  We've had a very rough month, he's been on antibiotics since Christmas Eve and he's still on antibiotics, we are hopeful this will be the last little bit and he will be ok, but man it's been a really rough go of things for a bit. Current dislikes that Teddybear is currently displaying are: being up too long, soothers, drinking from a cup/ bottle, waiting for food when he's hungry, sleeping in our bed. I'm definitely not complaining about many of these dislikes, I'd love if he'd drink from a cup, or if he'd develop some patience, but him not wanting to sleep in our bed or taking a soother anymore are totally ok with me!! Current likes include food, any and all food!! He loves crawling around, his jolly jumper, playing peek a boo, his brothers, standing up and going ...

Where has the time gone?? My baby is six months old! SIX MONTHS OLD!!! Time is going by way too fast and soon he'll be moving out of the house!! But Prince T is 6 months old today (as I write this not as it's posted).  He's such a joy to have in the house.  He loves his routine, and his routine is very workable, he has a short nap in the morning, is awake over lunch then a longer nap in the afternoon.  He still doesn't sleep well through the night, but it's not horrible, he'll usually sleep for 6 hours from between 7 and 8 until 1-2.  Although, last night he was up every two hours to nurse, seriously, he doesn't eat that often during the day, but at night he's like a leech.  (Don't tell anyone I'm sort of ok with it because it means we get to snuggle) Prince T has some definite preferences right now!  He likes his exo-saucer and jolly jumper.  He likes listening to stories and hearing lullabies.  He likes food, but not pureed food.  He'...

I'm so bad at this sometimes!! I just get out of a groove and forget to post and then I get behind and blah blah blah... anyways, it seems like it's been so much longer than 5 months but there you go, Prince T is now 5 months old!! He's so expressive and active that he's doing something new each day!! He has some of the best smiles I have ever seen, when he's really happy or excited about something he smiles so big his eyes turn into quarter moons!! He is talking more and more each day, not with words as I have to explain to Lil Man, but he's exercising his vocal cords and I fear I have another chatter box on my hands. He's mastered rolling over and he's trying to crawl.  He loves his jolly jumper and his exosaucer!! He's starting to sleep better through the nights and is even starting to soothe himself back to sleep should he wake up momentarily.  We've got a 7-8 o'clock bedtime which works really well and he'll sleep until mid...

I missed my four month post of Prince T, so here it is!!  He is such a joy to have around!! He has completed our little family and seeing his smiling face makes my heart soar every minute!! Currently, he's a very active little guy.  Prince T is rolling over, smiling, spending time in his exosaucer, sitting in his high chair and he's almost sitting up. He likes snuggles and cuddles! He loves his brothers and they can make him laugh. He's started laughing and it's the cutest thing in the world.  He loves swimming as well. He's current dislikes are sleeping in his own bed, long car rides, loud noises and being startled. Thanks for being the most awesome, loving little guy in our family!! You are my favourite Prince T, and I can't imagine our family without you!!

I am constantly amazed at the leaps Little Man is making in his development.  He is becoming more and more of a toddler and less of my little baby. I don't know what is more pressing on my emotions, the sadness of seeing him leave is infancy behind, or the excitement fear of seeing him learns his independence as he explores his surroundings.  In the past few months Little Man has grown leaps and bounds.  He is fairly small for his age I think, or he is average I guess.  He is right between 12 month and 18 month clothing, 12 month is too small, it shows off his little pot belly, and 18 month is too large, the pants drag on the floor.  In actual fact he has a long torso and short legs so pants have always been large and shirts are often always too small for his age size.  I wish you could mix and match sets of clothes to suit your child.  You know those cute Disney outfits, for me I might need a size 12 pants but 18 month shirt, if I could do that lif...
