A Movie I recently Watched

So the most recent movie that I went to the theatre to see was Breaking Dawn part 2.  It was GREAT!!!  I know some of you out there are thinking what is wrong with her, the Twilight series, some of you are reading this and saying she better not give anything away I haven't seen it yet. Well, I will say this, it was a great movie and I will not post any spoilers here.  I will make allusions to things that occurred in the movie but I won't write specifics.  If that is too much for you then I suggest you skip this blog and read my next blog as it comes out. Breaking Dawn was the first book in the four book twilight series the I actually enjoyed and couldn't put down.  All the books were easy reads, but I really got into the characters in Breaking Dawn, there were finally some redeeming qualities Bella embraced in the fourth book, prior Bella was a bit of a wet blanket, and Kristen Stewart actually did carry that off quite well.  So I was very excited for the...

Fourth and Final book of the Twilight series Book Review

And she could be heard yelling from the mountain tops,"And thank the LORD for that."  It has taken me three years to begin reading this series and I then finished the series in a matter of three weeks. Not, and I repeat, not because it was an exciting series to read, but because I just wanted to finish the books.  To be able to say that I had read the books.  I am glad that I am able to put these stories behind me now. The final book was the book I enjoyed the most.  Was this because it was the final book?? Maybe, but who knows.  I was more impressed with the storyline in this novel, and I liked how she told part of the story from Jacob's perspective.  I have always said I enjoy her development of her male characters so that fact that she told part of the story from his perspective was refreshing. It is this novel that we see Bella grow.  Apparently she is just an obsessive person, because she became obsessed with the idea of her baby, but this is ...

Eclipse Book Review

So in the third book of the Twilight series, we see a major conflict in Bella.  Which boy should she choose??  Does she ultimately end up chosing the right one?? As many of you know from my previous posts I do not like Bella.  I find her snivelling and whiney, and why these two quote unquote good looking boys are tripping over themselves for her affection is beyond my comprehension.  But they are and she must choose. The whole story revolves around Bella, excuse the cliche but, wanting her cake and eating it too.  She wants to be with Edward but she wants to still be friends with Jacob.  Now in a normal world this would work out, but Jacob has become what he is because of Edward....hmmm this may become problematic.  Bella dwells on this connundrum the entire story, and it's so frustrating because as soon as you think she's come to terms with things she does the opposite of what she just decided and wants both boys.  I could totally imagine her i...

New Moon Book Review

New Moon the second book in the Twilight Saga. How many pages can an author write about depression in a novel that is geared towards teenagers?? Well apparently around 400 pages or so. Can you find a more pathetic child in all literature?? You want to tell me that Bella is suicidal because Edward left her??? Huh?? It doesn't work with the character they began to create in the first book. Bella in the first novel started out as some what of a loner. She was boring and a little plain. Maybe that was the authors intention to make her so plain in comparison to her Vampire family, if it was then she succeed!! But to have Bella turn into a snivelling zombie in New Moon, well that's ridiculous. You mean to tell me that Bella can't be whole without a boy in her life??? Is that really the message we want to send out to teen age girls?? Then Bella becomes happy again because she's hanging out with another BOY. She couldn't hang out with her girlfriends and become...

Twilight Book Review

So after much delay I have finally read the Twilight Saga. I have a few concerns with this series, and I am not sure how any parent of a teen girl could let their child read this story without having a conversation with them either before or after. Seriously, I...... well I will break down this series review to each book, that may keep my rantings down to a minimum. The overall writing of the book was moderately pleasing. She was able to create a setting that was believable and well described. It was easy to picture the story as it played out. The plot was interesting if nothing else, but not especially captivating. Her description of the characters was clear and I was able to picture these four vampires trying to blend in with society. I am not sure if the casting director of the movie made the right decision, but I was able to mold my view of Edward into the actor from the movie. As for the main character of Bella, well I didn't like her. I don't like her and I had di...
