Gym Goals for January: a look back

Image
I have this great new planner that I bought at Michaels, I had one last year and started using it then but now it's taken over my organizing life.  It's great and I love it! It's helped me plan out my financial habits, my gym habits and all the activities in my life.  So this is where I was at the end of last year.  There wasn't as much movement as I had wanted I definitely didn't stick to my healthy eating as much as I could have, but there were no serious back slides and I did have some movement. In December I changed my weight loss goal, I have a big goal, but each month I didn't make that goal, it became discouraging even though I had made it a portion of the way there.  So right before Christmas I wanted to lose 6-7 pounds I gave myself 4 weeks to do that and I did it.  Even through Christmas I have kept that weight off, so my jeans still love me. I reset my goals in January deciding I'd like to lose 2 pounds per week for a grand total of 8 pounds i...

Piercings and Tattoos

I believe that people should be able to express themselves however they wish.  If that means having a giant elephant on your chest or a tiger on your hip then you need to go for it. Or if it means stretching out your earlobes , piercing every small divot on your face then you should.  Freedom of expression is important and to be true to oneself you must do that as you are comfortable. Personally, I have piercings. My ears are pierced, currently I have two holes, one in each lobe, but I used to have three in each lobe.  I have also had my naval pierced twice the first time it grew in in three months.  I no longer have my naval pierced and I can sometimes re-pierce my second holes in my lobes but that is a little painful and more effort than it is worth. As for tattoos, they just aren't my thing.  I change the things I like and feel passionate about so much that I just can't commit to having something on my body for the rest of my life.  Also they are...

Seasource Detox Line Review

Image
Have I told you how much I enjoy the Arbonne Seasource Detox Line? NO! Oh well let me rectify this, because this line is amazing. There are many products in this line but I am going to share with you my three favourites.  The Seasource Mud Mask, The Detoxifying Rescue Wash and Seasource Hair masque. First let me tell you a little about my experience with the Rescue wash.  I love to use this rescue wash in my baths, and I love a bath.  It has a lovely scent, it smells clean, not perfume-y or medicinal, it just smells clean.  I try to use it at least once a week and my skin feels so smooth afterwards and I don't have to slather on tons of lotion either.  I've also used the Rescue wash as stain treater for clothing.  True story, my youngest son was in cloth diapers most of his life, and sometimes those things leak. Well one day I was holding him while wearing my favourite tiffany blue sweater and his diaper leaked all over my sweater! I was so sad becau...

Before and After

Image
In July I decided I needed to take control of my health and fitness.  I've said this in the past but many times things come up and I put it aside, so in July I was keen I was going to do this part of it was because of my upcoming surgery (more about that in another blog) and part because it's the healthy choice. I think I may have even posted a blog about it in August or something you can read the link there. And I've stayed pretty true to everything. I really started out weighing 100 kg, or 220 pounds.  And though I could have had more amazing results I have had some incredible results with a little fluctuation.  I made it down to 215 lbs easily and I hovered in that area for at least 6 weeks, maybe losing a pound or two only to gain it back. Then 30 days ago (I know what took me so long!!!) I purchased the Myfitnesspal app, so I could see my macro nutrient count, and I also purchased a new scale.  The Aria scale from Fitbit with my new Fitbit Charge 2. ...

Welcome back from Easter Break

It's been awhile since my last blog!! Not my longest break by any means, but a break none the less.  The last two weeks have been Easter Break in Red Deer.  The first week had the oldest son off and the second week the youngest was off.  I also had my nieces for the second week as they were off school as well. Needless to say this was a busy household and I was exhausted!! I really don't know how people with lot's of kids do it!! I admire them, I mean I have three which is what I'd consider a do-able number.  Especially since there is an 11 year gap between my oldest and middle child.  So I really only have two children and a teenager, and my middle child, Lil Man, is becoming more and more independent each day so that leaves just the baby. When my nieces were here they are 3 and 8 years younger than my oldest so they fit right in the middle of my kids.  I then had 5 kids from 16 to 10 months!! Scary thing is they could have all been mine with the age g...
