Life's Whirlwind Adventures

Last time we were in Saskatoon I took the boys to the Western Development Museum.  I hadn't been to the Western Development Museum since I can't even remember if I've gone since I became an adult.  So the boys and I head off to see Boomtown. There are so many fun little things to see, Leigham had been here about a year ago so he remembered a lot of what we saw.  Theodore had been too, but he still enjoyed walking through all the exhibits.  I explained what I could and we listened to the different sound clips.  I think the boys favourite was the North West Royal Mounted Police room.  We listened to all the sound clips there.  Leigham liked to show off his muscles and how strong he was, he figured he could work in the stable or blacksmith shop.  We really liked the train too, it was huge! I've always been a family person! To be able to spend time with my family just hanging out or playing games is one of my most favourite things to do in the whole world. So on holidays or when we go back to Saskatchewan that's one of the only things I want to do.  I also know that it makes my grandma happy to play games with us and as she's getting older I like to do things that will make her happy.  Plus I really enjoy that time with my family. I admit to being selfish, especially when it comes to spending time with my family when we go back to Saskatchewan. And I know that I have a lot of fun playing games with my grandma and mom but it's not really for everyone, and my husband didn't always enjoy it.  Where I could sit and play games for 3-4 hours in a row,  Hubby may have joined for a couple games but it wasn't really his thing and just sitting around would get bored. Hubby is a doer.  He likes to be doing things or going places so to just sit around and ...

It's been a busy month of June.  Busy getting over the baby blues (hormones), end of school, preparing for summer, and just getting into a new routine that works for the boys and me.  I hate saying I am busy, I've actually stopped using that word when people ask me how I've been or however they phrase the question. I legitimately tell them what I am doing or have been up to, because just saying "I've been busy" is a cop out that's like saying you don't have time to give to someone that is expressing an interest in your life and that's not fair.  (this is totally only relevant for me and I do not judge people who still answer "oh I'm so busy" when I ask how they are doing, I realize they have not come to same understanding as I have)  All of this is not to say that we haven't been doing things everyday or most days because we have it's just that I don't want to have my life defined as busy.  But I'm off on a tangent now...

So ever since I can remember I have had a desire to be a school counsellor.  I went to school and got my education degree and became a teacher, which is rewarding in it's own right, but it's not where I feel most satisfied.  I know that in order to become a school guidance counsellor I will probably have to do some more schooling, which I am willing to do when I feel my family is financially stable enough to allow for me to be away from the full time workforce.  But then there's this situation I ran into last weekend. While perusing the Internet, I decided to check on jobs in my old school divisions that I had worked for in Saskatchewan.  I wasn't seeing anything in Alberta so I thought I would see what was available in Saskatchewan.  There wasn't a whole lot, nothing more than in Alberta really, and nothing that I would be willing to apply for until I checked the Saskatoon Public School Division Website.  "OMG!!!!", was the thought that ran throug...

So today marks the first day of the holidays for me.  Yes I am starting early, but that is the joy of being on Maternity leave, the whole year is a holiday.  I am flying with Little Man to Saskatchewan today so I am planning to make periodic updates, I am hoping to update my blog at least once a day if not more than that.  Maybe if I start updating it more I can get some more readers, and if not at least I will get more practice at writing. Little man and I are flying out of Edmonton.  We shall arrive in Saskatoon at 5:40 tonight.  We are just going to hang out with my mom and grandma tonight, but we shall see how travelling alone with an infant works out for me.  I think it may be a little frustrating as I have to haul all my own luggage and stuff into the airport.  It's amazing how much stuff you have to pack for a baby, and I didn't even pack everything because I figured  I would just buy some stuff to keep at my mom's (diapers).  I ...
